New CIM Marketing Qualifications

SPA Professional Academy are delighted to be able to offer the new syllabus from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), details of which have just been released. We will be delivering the new syllabus for all candidates starting their course from September this year – for the Level 3 Foundation Certificate, Level 4 Certificate and Level 6 Diploma qualifications.

We’ve been delivering CIM qualifications for over 20 years and have had many syllabus revisions during that time, but this one is a significant change in the structure being used, breaking the elements of marketing into smaller modules to provide more flexibility through elective modules to learn the elements relevant to the individual. Marketing evolves continuously, both in response to the external environment and also to influence that environment – the new syllabus reflects that evolution.

New Structures

At each of Levels 3, 4 and 6 there are two options, the main qualification and an extended qualification. Details are:

Level 3 – One mandatory and two elective modules available, 12 credits each

CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing – mandatory and one elective module – 24 credits total

CIM Level 3 Extended Foundation Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing – mandatory and both elective modules – 36 credits total

Level 4 – One mandatory 20 credit module and six elective 10 credit modules (in two groups) available

CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing – Mandatory and three elective modules – 50 credits total

CIM Level 4 Extended Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing – Mandatory and four elective modules – 60 credits total

Level 6 – One mandatory 20 credit module and nine elective 10 credit modules (in two groups) available

CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional & Digital Marketing – Mandatory and three elective modules – 50 credits total

The new syllabus has been developed by CIM following extensive employer-led research across a range of sectors and sizes of organisations, qualifications providers, academics and students to ensure that it reflects current and future marketers needs. The modules and their content ensure that candidates understand and can apply the enduring underpinning concepts of marketing along with cutting edge tools and techniques for the current environment.

Course delivery

SPA Professional Academy have three delivery methods for the new CIM Qualifications:

  • Face to face workshops in Crewe, Leeds and Sheffield
  • Tutor led live stream workshops
  • Self-study online learning

New qualification delivery starts in September, enrolments are being taken now and we have options for anyone wanting to start with self-study learning now.
