Product, packaging and physical evidence

I received a package through the post today which demonstrates very well how packaging can enhance the perception of a product. As a background I answered a questionnaire from Bremont (an English luxury watchmaker – link here) for which I received a voucher for money off in their accessories store. I decided to put it towards a key-fob – which still seemed pretty expensive even with more than 50% off!

dsc_0985The key-fob arrived today, in a black padded envelope. The picture shows what was inside, and the bag inside the box which contained the key fob.

So, as well as enhancing the product the physical evidence was great – if it is this good for a key-fob how good would it be for a watch at 100 times the price! Maybe one day I will try them out…

I would love to hear of other examples anyone has.
